Sending gratitude to Jakartans!

As I've been living here, in Jakarta, for about 4 years, I found myself grew so much, older and much mature (hopefully). This small city has taught me so many things I couldn't count. For those who come for the very first time to Jakarta, this city seems fancy, luxurious and provides all the enchanting things, yet as you live in, as the time goes by, you will realize Jakarta is kinda similar to  an old man. It sure has flaws, it's imperfect, but still, wise on the other side. Jakarta treats you hard life, but at the same time you'll be grateful for living here. Jakartans, is one of the reasons behind all the gratitude for living in Jakarta.

Jakartans, people of Jakarta, is so much diverse since Jakarta is kinda meeting point of people coming from all over Indonesia with hundreds ethnics and speak local languages with its dialect, carrying their uniqueness and characters. So here, after all these time, I'd like to say thanks toward Jakartans.
  • Mr/Mrs drivers of TransJakarta, who patiently and sincerely takes me wherever I want to go in limited budget. I can't thank you enough for bearing the far yet messy route through the day.
  • Mr/Mrs/Ms driver's assistance (driver's conductor) of TransJakarta, who patiently standing for hours just to make sure there's no one left behind, to make sure every passenger of TransJakarta is safe and the priority ones are seated. I can't imagine how tiring your job is, while somehow being ignored by some people. May be they just never wear your shoes. In hope that you all stay healthy and happy.
  • Ojek Online drivers, whatever the name of its companies, Gojek, Grab, or Uber. You're kind of a life saver, a good companion in surviving the worst traffic jam, you truly are. Bunch of thanks may not enough to represent how thankful I am. Driving a motorcycle either on a sunny day or raining day, with road full of dust and dirt, trapped in traffic jam for long long way in Jakarta, only to take someone to get the place he/she wants to go in punctual time, is really something. This kind of job is provided only for those who are strong and have willingness to struggle even more.
  • Pasukan Orange, Pasukan Ungu, Pasukan Biru (janitor, etc) I send you my sincere and endless gratitude toward you all. Your dedication for this city, to keep this city clean and stay neat, to keep the city safe from terrible flood, sure deserves such a reward, at least an acknowledgement from Jakartans. You've worked hard, even when none notices, even when none gives applause. You've worked well, for your family and the Jakartans.
  • To the sellers of various stuffs, whatever it is, no matter how old or how young he/she is, thank you for showing me the real striving instead of begging to people just to give a meal for his/her family, to pay the school's fee of his/her children/brothers/sisters. Thank you so much, may Allah bless you in every step you take.
  • Taxi driver whose the advice of his I always remember, he once said while took me home, "Di Jakarta ngapain? Kerja atau kuliah? Punya hobby ga? Lakuin hobbynya, jangan cuma belajar atau kerja aja, hidup harus seimbang". May Allah always grant your wishes, Sir.
  • All the Jakartans, either good or bad ones, either those who gave me joy or lessons, thank you so much. All that I am today, that I became even more cautious, much wiser, much generous, much observant, and much better than I was (even though I aint a good person yet), thanks to you, for letting me lived with you, in this lovable city, Jakarta.
May Allah surround us with bliss and blessing forever and more, I love you.
Xx.
