Benefits of energy conservation

Day12 of #15HariCeritaEnergy, which means 3 days left to share about renewable and conservative energy in my blog. Wooooo excitinggggg!! Yesterday, I posted about Earth hour, which is one of biggest campaign related to energy conservation (it's also considered as energy efficiency). But, have you known about energy conservation? About conservative energy? In my first post, I’ve mentioned it a lil bit, that energy conservation related to the minimising the use of energy, or using energy as efficiently as possible because we consider the limited source of some kind of energies, so that the next generation will be able to enjoy it as well. Feels like I mention it again and over again, but that’s okay.

Guys, have you ever known, that the energy conservation or energy efficiency has soooooooo many benefits after all? Can you mentioned one by one? Yup, yup! You’re right. According to International Energy Agency (IEA), there are at least 15 benefits of energy efficiency. And today, I’ll try to give explanation according to the 15 points of benefit IEA has mentioned. Here they are.

1. Energy savings. By conserving energy, we automatically saving the energy itself. Why? Simply because conserving means minimising, using the energy efficiently (as little as possible), keeping the remaining amount of energy so the next generation will able to consume it as well.
2. Reducing GHG emissions. By conserving energy, which means the energy consumption tend to be as minimum as possible, it will lead to the minimum of emission, including the GHG emission. How come? Because the energy consumption always followed by its emission, so when the energy consumption being reduced, the emission will follow it to be reduced as well.
3. Energy security. By conserving energy, we use the energy wisely and properly. We don't want to waste the energy for unimportant things. In other words, it can by said that when we conserve the energy, it means we keep the energy secure or remain exist amongst us, and hopefully stay there for our descendants.
4. Energy delivery. When we try to conserve the energy, when we avoid to use the energy abundantly and carelessly, it means that we let the energy be distributed or delivered to those who need it in higher urgency level. Shortly, by conserving energy, we try to spread the energy equally and thoroughly.
5. Energy prices. By minimising the use of energy, it means we minimising the price of energy as well. How can we relate? Let me give you an illustration. If we use the energy generously, especially the conventional energy which is limited that someday will be running out, the price of its energy will increase since the price has negative relationship with its adequacy. When there's enough adequacy, the price will be relatively cheap. Oppositely, when the amount of energy decrease, the price will be getting much expensive.
6. Macro-economic impacts. By minimising the use of energy, the good impacts will come to the economic life without we realize it. When a country only has limited source of energy, somehow it has to import the energy (for example oil based fuel, coal based fuel etc) from another countries. By conserving energy, the use of energy will be as minimum as possible, that it's really possible not to import energy anymore. So that the budged can be saved or use for another sectors which need it more.
7. Industrial productivity. How come an energy conservation will lead to industrial productivity? When we conserve energy, we need an alternative to produce energy as well, and renewable energy come to be the alternative solution. But, the solution itself need to be taken care by an industry, and industry need labour force. In the end, to make the renewable energy working well, the industrial energy must increase its productivity. (Sorry, I aint so sure about this point, correct me if I am wrong :))
8. Poverty alleviation. It has correlation with the 6th point. By conserving energy, we somehow  reduce the cost/budged that initially to fulfil energy needs. Rather than that, the budged can be used to alleviate poverty such us giving various of subsidy/subvention to the poor people or another actions expected to improve the welfare of people.
9. Health and well-being. By conserving energy, for example when we walk to reach some places instead of using car which needs oil fuel, we already give what our bodies deserve, health. By walking to reach some places, we can burn some fat and do it as daily exercise to keep our body fit all the day. I guess it was the easiest example so far hehehehe.
10. Employment. To conserve energy, somehow we need to reduce the use of machine in some of industry/factory, whereas, the industry/factory still has to reach its productivity standard. So, the human labour will come as a solution to replace the machines which need fuel to be operated. Indirectly, it can reduce unemployment and increase the number of labor force (employment).
11. Local air pollution. By conserving energy, we try to reduce the use of energy, especially the conventional energy which brings bad impact to environment (land, air, and water pollution), so that it can be said that we can reduce the local pollution, especially the air pollution.
12. Resource management. By energy conservation, we try to manage the energy resource. Minimising the use of conventional energy and starting to use the renewable energy instead, can be said as a good energy resource management.
13. Public budgets. It's similar to the 6th and 8th points :).
14. Disposable income. By conserving energy, we can wisely use the disposable income, the income and budget can be allocated so much more better.
15. Asset values. By conserving energy, it means we keep various assets which is valuable. For example, the remaining energy which is saved as the result of energy conservation, can be precious asset for the next generation. And the next generation itself is valuable asset as well.
